Kalimpong :-
Untouched by the waves of commercialism, Kalimpong is a small hill town enveloped by lush green tea gardens, overwhelming mountains, distant snow peaks and the clear blue sky. Gushing waterfalls mark every corner of the town while you sit and jam with a bunch of locals and a guitar by the road relishing the steaming momos, piping thukpas and local aromatic tea!

Kalimpong is a heaven unexplored for the adventurous. Hiking down the valley, discovering wildlife following a nature trail, trekking, river rafting and a ropeway experience are some of the must do's while you are in Kalimpong!

Gangtok :-

Pelling :-
Pelling, a quiet village in West Sikkim is situated close to the famous Pemayangtse Monastery, built in 18th century AD. Pelling is nature's wonder - enjoy astounding views of Mt. Kanchenjunga, go on treks in the woods, sit by the river or enjoy a plate of setaming momos.

Don't Miss
Pelling's ethereal scenic landscape cannot be justified through photographs or literature - you have to experience it to believe it. Visit the Khachoed - Palri Lake which, though surrounded by a dense forest, is believed to be so clean that even if a leaf falls in it, a small bird comes to pick it up! Stand under the Rimbi Waterfalls; tread on the Singshore Bridge, the second largest gorge bridge in Asia or visit the ruins of Rabdantse Palace - every moment spent here is priceless.

Darjeeling :-
One word - tea. Made world famous by the brew, tea is everywhere in Darjeeling - drunk in little shacks with curling fumes and hot cups, flowing down slopes like a rolling, green carpet, neatly packaged to be sold in shops. Besides, Darjeeling is the place to be to enjoy Mt. Kanchnajunga's glorious views and Buddhist monasteries.

The Sood's Garden Retreat has 11 well appointed, comfortable rooms, spread across the property. The Apartment and the Superior Front Rooms open to gorgeous views of the Himalayas with the green lawns right outside. The Standard rooms, however, do not offer any views. All the rooms have wall to wall carpeting, television with cable connection, telephone. En suite washrooms have hot and cold running water. The retreat provides room heaters on request.

Dining
The Room with a View is the Sood's restaurant, serving a multi cuisine fare comprising Mughlai, Tandoori, Chinese, Continental, Nepalese and even Bengali cuisine. Enjoy your meal with the great views around.

The Conference hall can accommodate 60 people. The retreat also offers a children's park with swings and slides. There is an in-house cyber cafe and travel desk. DAY 1: BAGDOGRA / NEW JALPAIGURI - KALIMPONG

Welcome on arrival at Bagdogra Airport / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station and transfer to Kalimpong (75 kms/3 hrs). Another quite hill resort in eastern Himalayas. Kalimpong is famous for its orchids and nurseries and some of the rare cacti and orchids can be seen. Oak, maple and chestnut stretch up the ridge as far as the eye can reach. Check into the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 2: KALIMPONG SIGHTSEEING AND TRANSFER TO GANGTOK

In the morning start the local sightseeing in and around Kalimpong City, covering Durpin Dhara, Zong Dog Palri Fo-Brong Monastery, Flower and Orchid nurseries and Kalimpong Market. Back to hotel before lunch. After lunch transfer from Kalimpong to Gangtok (80kms / 02hrs). At an altitude of 5,500ft Gangtok is the capital of the state of Sikkim, a beautiful and clean town promising of the best monasteries and landscapes.. Evening at leisure for individual activity and leisure. Overnight at hotel

DAY 3: EXCURSION TRIP TO TSOMGO LAKE & GANGTOK HALF DAY SIGHTSEEING

In the morning, go on a half day trip to Tsomgo lake (12400 ft), which is only 32 kms from Gangtok, the lake is about one Km long, oval in shape and 15 mtrs deep. The lake is considered sacred by the local people. Back in Gangtok, have lunch, which is followed by a half day sightseeing of Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim, covering Chortan, Stupa, Institute of Tibetology (closed on Sunday) Institute of Handicrafts and Handlooms (closed on Sunday).

DAY 4: GANGTOK TO PEMAYANGTSE

Take a transfer to Pemayangtse in the morning, about 123 kms away (6.5 hrs), en route visit Ravangla - a small township in South Sikkim. Located at an altitude of 6,800 ft, Pemayangtse is a very small Himalayan village in West Sikkim. Pelling is the nearest motorable point from Mt. Kanchendzonga, world's 3rd highest peak, offers a good sunrise and all day long view of Khangchendzonga and the entire Eastern Himalayan range.

DAY 5: PEMAYANGTSE SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast, go on a half day sightseeing tour in Pemayangtse, covering Rimbi Falls, Sacred Khechodpalri Lake, Kanchendzonga Falls, Rimbi Power Project and Pemayangtse Monastery - the 2d oldest monastery of Sikkim. Return to hotel for lunch and spend the evening at leisure.

DAY 6: PEMAYANGTSE TO DARJEELING

In the morning, take a transfer to Darjeeling. En-route visit Pemayangtse Monastery about 128 kms (5hrs) away. Once the summer capital of India, Darjeeling is a land of infinite variety and charm. It offers a unique experience of nature and charming Himalayan people. It is the place of Dorje, the mystic thunderbolt of the Lama - religion. Surrounded by tea gardens, this little town faces some of the Himalayas highest peaks. Take some rest and then go for a walk around the town to appreciate the new culture you are in. Stay overnight at hotel.

DAY 7: DARJEELING SIGHTSEEING

Early in the morning, go to the Tiger Hills to see the spectacular sunrise and its amazing effects on Mt. Kanchendzonga (world's 3rd highest peak). Visit Ghoom Monastery and Batashia Loop War Memorial while returning to the hotel. Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, followed by a half day local sightseeing tour covering Padmaja N. Zoological Garden (closed on Thursday), Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursday), Tibetian Refugee Self-help Centre (closed on Sunday) and visit the Mall and local market (closed on Thursday). Enjoy the evening at leisure for shopping. Stay overnight at hotel.

DAY 8: DARJEELING - BAGDOGRA / NEW JALPAIGURI

In the morning, take a transfer to Bagdogra Airport / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station about 95 kms (3 hrs) away to resume onward journey. End of tour.
